“Here’s a closer look at a recent field study I painted at the @hwdforever cemetery,” said Jennifer McChristian on Instagram. “This was a fun exercise for simplifying complex shapes and mixing subtle color temperature shifts within the shapes. I was also drawn to the row of festive string lights that glinted in the warm afternoon sun as they gently swayed in the cool autumn breeze.”

She has been a full-time artist since 2000, and teaches painting workshops around the world.
