The San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild invites artists to enter En Plein-Air, A Charles Reiffel Tribute 2013, an international art competition. The show will be juried by art historians Martin E. Petersen and Jean Stern.

The competition is open to all artists, and the deadline for submission is January 11, 2013. Awards will include an Award of Excellence crystal trophy and three top prizes, the honor of being a featured artist on the Artists Guild website, and a mention in the San Diego Museum of Art membership magazine. All forms of oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, pastel, and drawing are eligible. Artwork submitted is to be painted en plein air, which includes all interpretations and portrayals of outdoor scenes. Work must be framed or gallery wrapped, suitable for display, and must not exceed 30″ x 40″ including frame.
