The Hamptons get the hype, but on the North Fork, summer is awfully pleasant. For the 11th year, Gallery North, in Setauket, New York, celebrated its Wet Paint Festival. This is what Long Island looks like above the Hamptons.

Gallery North is big enough to call its grounds a campus, and about 40 local artists converge there and on adjacent land owned by the Three Village Historical Society for the annual festival, which culminates in a show at the 50-year-old gallery.
