Tredway works primarily outdoors, depicting the play of light as it changes by the hour and by the season. The recurring motif of figures, particularly women, is notable. “This exhibit embraces the changing seasons and different states of light on the North Coast,” states Joan Rosko, gallery director at Sewell Gallery Fine Art. “Capturing light is most important in her work — how it affects the surface of her current subject and how it transforms with oil paint.”
