Artist Nancy Tankersley

Artist Nancy Tankersley shares a moment of humanity from a plein air event.

“While we were painting in Parrsboro International Plein Air once, we had plenty of rain,” Nancy said. “One of the artists, Carol Douglas, was huddled under her umbrella when a fellow who was working on a building close by came over and built this lean-to for her. I thought it was such a generous act and reminded me of the many times I was touched by human kindness while painting plein air.”

Nancy added that she was sure all plein air painters have similar stories to share, and we agree! Send your “Painters Painted” or “Plein Errors” to us (including a photo and caption) at [email protected], and you might be featured!
