The second annual Bethany Beach Ocean Suites Plein Air event is a little-known but ripe opportunity for outdoor painters this fall. With nearly $2,000 in total prizes along with fresh coastal views, this event could be worth your consideration.
Bethany Beach, Delaware, will host its second annual Bethany Beach Ocean Suites Plein Air event from October 5 through the 8 this year. In addition to nearly $2,000 in cash prizes, the event offers a favorable 75 percent commission to participating artists who sell work. Artists may enter up to two pieces of artwork in the exhibition for judging. To be eligible for judging, all work must be completed between October 5 and October 8 2017 en plein air on pre-stamped paper or canvas. Any work other than gallery-wrapped canvas must be properly framed, wired, and ready to hang at the exhibition.
Artists will paint at several locations around Bethan Beach, which boasts gorgeous vistas of uninterrupted coast, rolling dunes, and more. Three cash prizes will be awarded, including $1,000 First Place, $500 Second Place, and $150 Third Place prizes. Three Honorable Mention ribbons will also be awarded. Registration is open now and closes on Friday, October 6 at 10 a.m.
