The Borrego Art Institute 14th Annual Plein Air Invitational starts March 2, as 15 invited painters in oils, pastels, and watercolors begin their exploration of the canyons, waterways, badlands, and expansive desert vistas of Borrego Springs, the Salton Trough, and adjacent Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. March is Borrego high season: desert wildflowers, gorgeous weather, and fresh interpretations of this special landscape by established artists from nine states bring visitors galore. Paintings are added to the BAI gallery March 2–6, and the exhibition and sale continues there through March 29. The March 4 Quick Draw and March 7 Awards Gala are open to the public.

Join 35 of the top plein air artists in the country as they capture the sights of Florida from Palm Beach to Stuart during Lighthouse ArtCenter’s 7th Annual Plein Air Festival. Watch these nationally recognized artists as they compete for awards totaling $20,000 in South Florida’s premier juried plein air event. During the festival, visitors, locals, and art collectors alike will be able to meet the artists, purchase their “wet” paintings, and enjoy live outdoor and indoor painting demonstrations. The festival culminates with a fabulous ticketed Collectors’ Party on March 13 at the ArtCenter Gallery.

Celebrating 15 years of documenting the landscapes and culture of this last vestige of authentic “Old Florida,” Forgotten Coast en Plein Air is among the world’s most prestigious plein air events. A focus on artistic excellence and the production of investment-quality art is the trademark of the 10-day event. The invitational is limited to 20 of the most accomplished national and international artists, accompanied by six featured “Florida’s Finest en Plein Air” artists who are honored as Plein Air Ambassadors. From March 29 to April 4, 2020, 30 plein air artists from across the nation will be working in various mediums to capture the outdoor sights and scenes of historic Marble Falls and the panoramic Texas Hill Country that surrounds it. For a full week, with thousands of visitors, there will be an expansive exhibiting/sales gallery, live demonstrations, a Quick Draw Challenge, sunrise and nocturne painting, a student competition, and nationally recognized judge Mark Fehlman presenting the awards.
