Over the past few years, some of California’s most distinguished plein air artists have painted in the wilderness areas of the High Sierra Mountains. Now a large group of their plein air and studio paintings are on exhibition.

The Granite Group, an organization of plein air painters who like to go on packing trips into the Sierra Mountains in California, are about to open a large exhibition of their paintings. The exhibition will feature plein air and studio works by premier artists Suzie Baker, Sharon Callahan, Bill Cone, Kevin Courter, Suzanne D’Arcy, Michele de Braganca, Philippe Gandiol, Carolyn Hesse-Low, Paul Kratter, Greg LaRock, Richard Lindenberg, Sergio Lopez, Kim Lordier, Julia Lundman, Ann McMillan, Eric Merrell, Clark Mitchell, Terry Miura, Ernesto Nemesio, Lori Putnam, Randy Sexton, Tom Soltesz, Randall Stauss, Robert Steele, Michele Usibelli, and Jim Wodark.

The exhibition in the Harrington Gallery at the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton, California, will run from through February 17, 2018. Dual painting demonstrations and a gallery walk-through will be presented by Bill Cone and Paul Kratter on Saturday, January 20 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
